Ευρωπαϊκή Ημέρα Γλωσσών

 

26 September was established as the European Day of Languages ​​on 6 December 2001, at the end of the European Year of Languages, by the Council of Europe, with the support of the European Union.

today this day our school organized language activities where almost all our students participated.

Today we played language games, solved quizzes in different foreign languages.

Our talented children answered questions related to foreign languages.

Their message was very simple: Talk to me!

So let us speak foreign languages ​​opening our wings everywhere touching and erasing all the borders of the earth. 

Η 26 Σεπτεμβρίου καθιερώθηκε ως Ευρωπαϊκή Ημέρα Γλωσσών στις 6 Δεκεμβρίου 2001, στο τέλος του Ευρωπαϊκού Έτους Γλωσσών, από το Συμβούλιο της Ευρώπης, με την υποστήριξη της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης. 

Σήμερα αυτή την ημέρα το σχολείο μας διοργανώσε γλωσσικές δραστηριότητες όπου συμμετείχαν σχεδόν όλοι οι μαθητές μας. 

Σήμερα κάναμε γλωσσικά παιχνίδια, λύσαμε κουίζ σε διάφορες ξένες γλώσσες.

Τα ταλαντούχα μας παιδιά απαντήσανε σε ερωτήσεις που σχετίζονται με γνώσεις στις ξένες γλώσσες.

Το μήνυμά τους ήταν πολύ απλό: Μίλα μου! 

Ας μιλήσουμε λοιπόν ξένες γλώσσες ανοίγοντας τα φτερά μας παντού αγγίζοντας και σβήνοντας όλα τα σύνορα της γης. 

Helping around!

 Looking our pupils how useful they may be in their life, made me think about this project. 

Helping around the house it is amazing because you may feel how important is your help. 

In this project the pupils of D class thought about their experiences and they made videos from their daily life. 

Eating healthy!

 

A healthy diet is essential for good health and nutrition. Eating a variety of foods and consuming less salt, sugars and saturated and industrially-produced trans-fats, are essential for healthy diet.

Eating a healthy diet instead of an unhealthy diet can help us get all the essential nutrients we need and limit your risk for a number of health conditions.

Today we have a great discussion about healthy and unhealthy food at the end we ate together something made by our pupils. 

It was amazing and really useful. 

Μια υγιεινή διατροφή είναι απαραίτητη για την καλή υγεία και διατροφή. Η κατανάλωση ποικιλίας τροφίμων και η κατανάλωση λιγότερου αλατιού, σακχάρων και κορεσμένων και βιομηχανικά παραγόμενων τρανς λιπαρών είναι απαραίτητα για την υγιεινή διατροφή.

Η υγιεινή διατροφή αντί για μια ανθυγιεινή διατροφή μπορεί να μας βοηθήσει να λάβουμε όλα τα απαραίτητα θρεπτικά συστατικά που χρειαζόμαστε και να περιορίσετε τον κίνδυνο για μια σειρά από παθήσεις υγείας.

Σήμερα έιχαμε μια μεγάλη συζήτηση για το υγιεινό και ανθυγιεινό φαγητό στο τέλος φάγαμε μαζί κάτι φτιαγμένο από τους μαθητές μας.

Ήταν καταπληκτικό και πραγματικά χρήσιμο.

My favourite heroes of Fairy tail!!!

 

In Storytime, when we share favourite fairy tales, we try to deliver them in a way that will satisfy our reader expectations.

 By that, I mean that we stick with the versions that are known and loved. 

We’ve spoken to our pupils about this and we know that they feel reassured and comforted by stories that are safe and familiar. 

There’s a lot to be said for the warmth and constancy a classic fairy tale can give – especially for young children who are encountering fairy tales for the first time. Everyone lives happily ever after!!!

The pupils of 5th class decided to present their favourite fairy tale heroes . It is so amazing and very cute to seeing how the express their passion for the world of fairies

.

Greek mythology

Myth has two functions. The first is to answer the sort of awkward questions that children ask, such as ‘Who made the world? How will it end? The second function of myth is to justify an existing social system and account for traditional rites and customs.

 In ancient Greece, stories about gods and goddesses and heroes and monsters were an important part of everyday life. They explained everything from religious rituals to the weather, and they gave meaning to the world people saw around them.

Today we decided to describe this part of Greek culture in our way. 

Maybe is not perfect but it is made with a big admiration and passion by my pupils and I adored it. 

Save the planet, recycle!!!

The world's natural resources are finite, and some are in very short supply.
At a fundamental level:

Recycling paper and wood saves trees and forests.
Recycling plastic means creating less new plastic, which is definitely a good thing.
Recycling glass reduces the need to use new raw materials.
Recycling reduces the need to grow, harvest or extract new raw materials from the Earth.

That in turn lessens the harmful disruption and damage being done to the natural world: fewer forests cut down, rivers diverted, wild animals harmed or displaced, and less pollution of water, soil and air.
And of course if our plastic waste isn't safely put in the recycling, it can be blown or washed into rivers and seas and end up hundreds or thousands of miles away, polluting coastlines and waterways and becoming a problem for everyone.

Today it is a new day, we start with our neighbourhood. We cleaned the rubbish and that it was just the beginning.

Οι φυσικοί πόροι του κόσμου είναι πεπερασμένοι και ορισμένοι είναι σε πολύ μικρή ποσότητα.
Σε θεμελιώδες επίπεδο:
Η ανακύκλωση χαρτιού και ξύλου σώζει δέντρα και δάση.
Ανακύκλωση πλαστικού σημαίνει δημιουργία λιγότερου νέου πλαστικού, κάτι που είναι σίγουρα καλό.
Η ανακύκλωση γυαλιού μειώνει την ανάγκη χρήσης νέων πρώτων υλών.
Η ανακύκλωση μειώνει την ανάγκη για καλλιέργεια, συγκομιδή ή εξαγωγή νέων πρώτων υλών από τη Γη.
Αυτό με τη σειρά του μειώνει την επιβλαβή αναστάτωση και τη ζημιά που προκαλείται στον φυσικό κόσμο: λιγότερα δάση κόβονται, ποτάμια εκτρέπονται, άγρια ζώα βλάπτονται ή εκτοπίζονται και λιγότερη ρύπανση του νερού, του εδάφους και του αέρα.
Και φυσικά, εάν τα πλαστικά μας απόβλητα δεν τοποθετηθούν με ασφάλεια στην ανακύκλωση, μπορούν να εκτοξευθούν ή να ξεπλυθούν σε ποτάμια και θάλασσες και να καταλήξουν εκατοντάδες ή χιλιάδες μίλια μακριά, ρυπαίνουν τις ακτές και τις υδάτινες οδούς και γίνονται πρόβλημα για όλους.
Σήμερα είναι μια νέα μέρα, ξεκινάμε από τη γειτονιά μας. Καθαρίσαμε τα σκουπίδια και ότι ήταν μόνο η αρχή.

Η 26η Σεπτεμβρίου είναι ημέρα αφιερωμένη στον εορτασμό των γλωσσών. Οι γλώσσες αποτελούν πολύτιμο κομμάτι της παγκόσμιας πολιτιστικής κληρονομιάς που οφείλουμε να διαφυλάξουμε, να καλλιεργήσουμε και να αναδείξουμε.

Στο πλαίσιο του εορτασμού της Ευρωπαϊκής Ημέρας Γλωσσών το 9χρονο Σχολείο Όμηρος Χειμάρας προέβη σε δραστηριότητες οι οποίες προάγουν την ενότητα των ανθρώπων με κοινές ιδέες και αξίες, όχι μόνον των 47 χωρών μέλη του Συμβουλίου της Ευρώπης αλλά και πολλών χωρών που βρίσκονται σε διαφορετικές ηπείρους.

European Day of Languages 

September 26 is a day dedicated to the celebration of languages. Languages ​​are a valuable part of the world cultural heritage that we must preserve, cultivate and enhance.

As part of the celebration of the European Day of Languages, our school organised activities that promote the unity of people with common ideas and values, not only of the 47 member states of the Council of Europe but also of many countries in different continents.

Let's watch what our pupils are able to make with their fantasy and the passion in their hearts.

Let's talk about languages

 In our school we try a lot to learn languages and the most amazing of all is their pasion and how hard they try to learn. In this video they try to speak with each others using a simple vocabulary. 

They made some easy dialogues in English, French and Italian. Is amazing how fast they may learn. 

I want to congratulate them all and I hope in future they be better!!! 

Στο σχολείο μας προσπαθούμε πολύ να μάθουμε γλώσσες και το πιο εκπληκτικό από όλα είναι το πάθος των μαθητών και το πόσο σκληρά προσπαθούν να μάθουν. 

Σε αυτό το βίντεο προσπαθούν να μιλήσουν μεταξύ τους χρησιμοποιώντας ένα απλό λεξιλόγιο.

 Κάναμε μερικούς εύκολους διαλόγους στα Αγγλικά, Γαλλικά και Ιταλικά. Είναι εκπληκτικό πόσο γρήγορα μπορούν να μάθουν.

Θέλω να τους συγχαρώ όλους και ελπίζω στο μέλλον να είναι καλύτεροι!!!

Happy Anniversary Greece!!!

Whith the occasion of the Celebration of the Anniversary of the liberation of Greece from the Turkish occupation, I would like to present the participation of our pupils in a simple way full of love and devotion.

They made essays in English and some translations of poems by various Greek authors.

I give my warm congratulations especially to Kalliopi, Thrasos, Penelope and Elena, Vasilis, Alexandros, Chryssa and Tea, Zina !

I am really proud of them all!!!

Με την ευκαιρία του  εορτασμού της επετείου της απελευθέρωσης της Ελλάδας από την τουρκοκρατία θα ήθελα να παρουσιάζω την συμμετοχή των μαθητών με ένα απλό τρόπο γεμάτο αγάπη και αφοσίωση.

Προσφέρθηκαν να κάνουν εκθέσεις στα αγγλικά και μερικές μεταφράσεις απο ποιήματα διαφόρων Έλληνες συγγραφείς.
