Eating healthy is the most important thing that everyone should do during their day. 

 Today we talked about our habits on eating. 

We discussed about healthy and unhealthy foods.

My students suggested to take together a healthy snack with fruits. 

We saw different video related to healthy food. 

We discussed about benefits of Healthy Eating. We understand that it may help us live longer. It keeps skin, teeth, and eyes healthy. Healthy food it supports muscles and  boosts immunity. It strengthens bones.

Eating healthy make our lives better! 

World health day!!

 

World Health Day is celebrated every year to raise awareness about the ongoing health issues that concern people across the world. The day is also used as an opportunity to spread awareness about the overall health and well-being of people. Today is  World Health Day (WHD) celebrated every year to mark the anniversary of the founding of World Health Organization (WHO) in 1948.

Each year, a theme is selected to highlight a priority area of public health concern in the world. The first World Health Day was celebrated and observed in 1950, after 7 April was set aside as a designated date to celebrate the creation of the World Health Organization in 1948 in the First Health Assembly. The theme for this year’s World Health Day is “Our Planet, Our Health”.

Today we made an mini project in honor of this day!

It is very important for me personally seeing my students making efforts to transmit their message:

"Our planet, our Health"!

I hope their message will be their first step to a better future!

The Earth is in danger!

 Every day, it seems, we read or hear about the environmental problems facing the planet. Scientific reports, predicting disaster if human society continues the way it is going, get more and more regular. But it’s not just scientists now: people across the entire planet are no longer leaving it to “the experts”.

These changes to the climate have the power to transform our world, affecting food and water supplies and our health. The bigger the problems, the more difficult and expensive it will be to solve them – which is why taking early action to deal with climate change is the best option.

It is the time to stop this "fight" with our planet

For this reason the students of 2nd junior high school made a video. They want to give their message. 

They want to stop this violence against the planet! 

Animals, we care!!!

 This project is about animals. The world of animals is so interesting so huge and people is always trying to learn more and more about it. 

My students did many searches and they made videos about animals, pets, wildlife etc. 

The message is one, we care about animals!

There will be a photo contest every week. Students have a topic given each week and they take a photo based on it.

Κάθε εβδομάδα θα γίνει ένα διαγωνισμό φωτογραφίας. Στους μαθητές δίνετε το θέμα της εβδομάδας και αυτοί βγάζουν μια φωτογραφία βασισμένοι στο θέμα.

Η πρώτη εβδομάδα είχε σας θέμα: Νικάω το Covid-19!!!

Μετά από ψηφοφορία η νικήτρια φωτογραφία της εβδομάδας είναι εδώ.

Happy Anniversary Greece

 Today we remember the Anniversary of Ohi Day or Oxi Day that is celebrated throughout Greece, Cyprus and the Greek communities around the world on 28 October each year! 

This year the 1st junior high school of Omiros made a video to show that despite difficulties they didn't forget this day. They show their respect and love about the Country of Democracy !

My beautiful Himara!!!

 We all know that our beautiful city is very important touristic place especially during the summer. 

The area has a great potential for tourism, with its seaside promenade, the Greek tavernas and the traditionally preserved old town built on a hill.

The town of Himarë consists of the old town, Kastro and the coastal region of Spilea, which is the touristic and economic center of the region. 

Other parts of the town are Potami, Livadhi, Zhamari, Michaili and Stefaneli.

The region has several Orthodox churches and monasteries, built with traditional Byzantine architecture, like the Monastery of the Cross, Athaliotissa.

Moreover, a number of churches are located inside the castle of Himarë, which was initially built in classical antiquity, like as well as the Aghioi Pantes church. Additional monuments in the castle include the mansion of the Spyromilios family and the Greek school.

Our pupils decided to tell more and they prepared some video to advertise their hometown in their way.

I am so glad with their work!!! 

Ολοι γνωρίζουμε ότι η όμορφη πόλη μας είναι πολύ σημαντικό τουριστικό μέρος ειδικά κατά τη διάρκεια του καλοκαιριού.

Η περιοχή έχει μεγάλες δυνατότητες για τουρισμό, με τον παραλιακό πεζόδρομιο, τις ελληνικές ταβέρνες και την παραδοσιακά διατηρημένη παλιά πόλη χτισμένη πάνω σε λόφο.

Η πόλη Himarë αποτελείται από την παλιά πόλη, το Κάστρο και την παράκτια περιοχή της Σπηλιάς, που είναι το τουριστικό και οικονομικό κέντρο της περιοχής.

Άλλα μέρη της πόλης είναι Ποτάμι, Λιβάδι, Ζάμαρι, Μιχαήλ και Στεφανέλι.

Η περιοχή έχει πολλές Ορθόδοξες εκκλησίες και μοναστήρια, χτισμένα με παραδοσιακή βυζαντινή αρχιτεκτονική, όπως η Μονή του Σταυρού, η Αθαλιώτισσα.

Επιπλέον, μια σειρά από εκκλησίες βρίσκονται μέσα στο κάστρο του Himarë, το οποίο αρχικά χτίστηκε στην κλασική αρχαιότητα, όπως και η εκκλησία των Αγίων Πάντων. Πρόσθετα μνημεία στο κάστρο περιλαμβάνουν το αρχοντικό της οικογένειας Σπυρομίλιου και το ελληνικό σχολείο.

Οι μαθητές μας αποφάσισαν να πουν περισσότερα και ετοίμασαν βίντεο για να διαφημίσουν την πατρίδα τους με τον τρόπο τους.

When the passion become an advertisement! Διαφημιστικά φτιαγμένα με πάθος!

In nowadays we are in close contact with the technology and the world of advertisement. 

Because of this we tried today to create advertisement by our own. 

I think we did it, again.

Our team it was great. They put a lot of fantasy and their work was pretty good.

Στις μέρες μας είμαστε σε στενή επαφή με την τεχνολογία και τον κόσμο της διαφήμισης.

Εξαιτίας αυτού προσπαθήσαμε σήμερα να δημιουργήσουμε δική μας διαφήμιση.

Νομίζω ότι τα κάταφεραμε ξανά.

Η ομάδα μας ήταν υπέροχη. Έβαλαν πολλή φαντασία και η δουλειά τους ήταν αρκετά καλή.

Η ΕΦΗΜΕΡΊΔΑ ΜΑΣ ! - ΣΤ' & Ζ τάξη

Think like a teenager - 6th and 7th grade

We made a small newspaper entitled: "Think teen" was created by students of 6th and 7th grade with great joy and good cooperation.

The section presents texts, images and various articles. In the pages of our small newspaper we talk about culture, health, technology, sports.

They become young journalists and do research for the breakfast of the students / three other classes of our school. They give us smart ideas for healthy eating with recipes.

Our pages do not lack remarkable music and sports news.

Congratulations to all the students who participated in the publication of our little newspaper.

Σκέψου σαν έφηβος - Στ  και Ζ τάξη

Φτιάξαμε  μια μικρή εφημερίδα με τίτλο: «Think teen» δημιουργήθηκε από μαθητές/τριες της 6-ης  και 7-ης τάξης  με πολύ χαρά και καλή συνεργασία. 

Το τμήμα παρουσιάζει με κείμενα, εικόνες και , διαφορά άρθρα. Στις σελίδες της μικρής μας εφημερίδας μιλάμε για πολιτισμό, υγεία, τεχνολογία, αθλητισμός .

 Γίνονται μικροί δημοσιογράφοι και κάνουν έρευνα για το πρωινό των μαθητών/τριών άλλης τάξης του σχολείου μας. Μας δίνουν έξυπνες ιδέες για υγιεινή διατροφή με συνταγές.

Από τις σελίδες μας δε λείπουν αξιόλογα μουσικά και αθλητικά νέα. 

Συγχαρητήρια αξίζουν σε όλους/ες τους/τις μαθητές/τριες που συμμετείχαν στην έκδοση της μικρής μας εφημερίδας.

Το Σχολείο «Όμηρος» Χιμάρας ταξιδεύει στην ιστορία του τόπου μας

Η καλή διάθεση και ο αίθριος καιρός έδωσαν την ευκαιρία στο Σχολείο «Όμηρος» Χιμάρας, να πραγματοποιήσει εκπαιδευτική και ψυχαγωγική εκδρομή στο κάστρο του Λυκουρσίου των Αγίων Σαράντα, αλλά και στην αρχαιοελληνική πόλη του Βουθρωτού.

Οι μαθητές συνοδευόμενοι από τους εκπαιδευτικούς, αρχικά ξεναγήθηκαν στους χώρους του κάστρου του Λυκουρσίου, όπου το 19ο αιώνα έλαβαν χώρα τα...
